The large pics wash the coin out because of the flash but the smaller pics are closer to how the coin looks in hand. Any thoughts on the grade or the coin in general?

    Thanks

Not an expert with these coins at all, but I would say in the VG10-F12 range.

Here is a PCGS F15 that I have on my site; it might help you in the evaluation of your coin-

    I'd say a VG-10

I would guess VG-10 to F-12, also. Is it just me or do the lips look a little weird?

I was thinking 12 too and the 15 Tom posted makes me even lean harder towards the 12. Thanks!

    Thanks Frank,

It's part of a collection I am cataloging for a friends estate. The collector really did a nice job of sticking to putting albums together (most in fine to vf condition) so the process should be pretty straight forward.

Sounds like that could be a fun 'job'!

    I wish I could help.

Fine-12... but maybe bagged because of the obverse hairlines also. I"ve seen them come back both ways with lines like that.. 50% ok.. 50% bagged.

I have been waiting for this comment. The other keys in the set are much worse. This looks like a very very old cleaning that was not too harsh on the surface. Its obviously circulated so condition could be as much a result of the circulation. I dont think it will be sent for grading but wanted to see how this key date might grade in terms of understanding an approximate value.

    Thanks!
