Actually the first one is Korean (I recognize the text) while the second is a Japanese 10 yen.

Based off of a few Google searches I believe the Japanese one is Showa 53 or 1978

Hello the one on the left is some Korean coin, not completely sure what it is though but I can tell it's Korean by the lettering. Now the one on the right is a Japanese Ten Yen worth about 10 cents. I got quite a few.

The South Korean coin is a 1999 10 Won coin. The Pagoda on the obverse is called Dabo Pagoda. It sits in one of Korea's most famous (if not THE most famous) Buddhist temple (Bulguk Temple) in Kyongju, North Kyongsang Province. The obverse side says "Ten Won", and the reverse has the year, denomination and "Bank of Korea" below it

In uncirculated condition, this coin is worth about one US Dollar, collector value. If you find a 1975, 1973 or 1970 and earlier-dated 10 Won coin in uncirculated, or close to it, you would have had something a little special. If you like, look at my webpage on Korean coins to read more:

mlov43 - just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for putting together your site on Korean coins, pattern coins, and coin stores in Seoul. I still haven't made it to Seoul yet, but you can bet I'll be using your guide to get some coins. Seems like every time I try and go I have to work...
