Why is this rim wider than the other pennies? http://www.flickr.com/photos/39509245@N02/9214006563/lightbox/
Hmm, the images comes up fine if I click the Flickr link. You can also add an image to your post: At the bottom of a Reply box there is an "Upload a File" button. Select a file from your computer. Once it has been uploaded here, click on "Thumbnail" (people will then need to click on that thumb to see the large image) or "Full Image" (that will insert the image in full size). And sorry, I don't know the answer to your question regarding the rim ... Christian
This is the way the mint makes them. no two coins are totally exactly alike even when they are brand new from the mint. they are close to being the same but each one will be slightly thiner or thicker according to the striking pressure or some other mishap like say mechanical doubling or bag damage from being shipped . we have to allow the mint workers and the coining presses a little room for mistakes. watch for the more major error coins and you will enjoy collecting more. I hope you find some awesome errors to show us on the forum .
