so i bought my first capped bust half about a week ago. it is a 1808/7 O.101 although it is not exactly rare it has intreigued me to start collecting more capped bust coinage. i simply love the design it is simple and has lots of different varietys to collect. although the cost is higher than what i normally buy (usually spend 25 dollars a week). i think waiting til the end of the month will be worth while and will keep me focused on my collecting goals. on a side note, i have just bought some of the coin world anacs slabs specific to the capped bust half and i am eagerly waiting their arrival. i only bought a 3 pack to try them out before making a bulk purchase. i also bought a 3 pack of nickels, dimes and half dimes. i hope they work as nice as they look. heres a pic of what i hope to be the beginning of my capped bust half collection
Looks like a strong start to your set! Congrats on the purchase, and good to hear you're diving into the world of Bust Halves (my series-of-choice!). Good luck on your journey. I hope that it is both enjoyable and educationally enriching. -Brian
Thanks Brian! I hope to be making my second capped bust half purchase soon and I will update my blog as I add to the collection. Cody
Nice acquisition, Cody. One of the first coins I had in my collection was/is a 1830 CBH that belonged to my grandfather. I think it is a great design, and I have picked up a few more along the way. Jonathan
