  3. There might be value to this coin, but there is no value to this picture. Provide a better, clearer picture and I'm sure someone will have an answer for you.

I can tell very little from the picture, but it seems that you might have either 1) a misprint Steel Penny (though it doesn't seem likely, the Steel Penny was minted in 1943), or 2) a "collectors" piece or "art" piece that was created (via plating) for the sole purpose of being added to someone's collection. Mints do not make silver or gold pennies, though they do make silver quarters and nickles as Proofs for collector's sakes.
If you don't mind uplaod a few more pictures, we would gladly take another look into it for you.

If it is slightly smaller than a regular cent and part of the design may be off the edge in places and the edge shows the same three layers as seen on our clad coins then it is struck on a dime planchet. If it is the same size as a cent and there is not layers on the edge then it is almost certainly plated after it left the mint.

Made of bronze, has a very modest value depending on condition. Somewhere between 50 cents a few dollars. Those aree retail values, not what a dealer would pay for it.

Can't tell from the photo, but maybe your coin was the victim of a science experiment.

The only photo in this thread is in the OP which is from seven years ago. I don't think he cares anymore.

I'm not sure you have a United States cent there.

It could be a piece of used chewing gum that somehow picked up an impression of some guys head.

OMG. 7 years old. Darn, it got me again. :-(

I have just found a silver penny as well. It's not steel because a magnet doesn't pick it up

This thread is 7 years old.

You should start your own thread with your cent. (Which I believe is a regular and normal cent that has been chrome plated).

Thanks David, it's pretty neat in any case even if not worth anything. I have a bag of random old coins from different countries :)
