Gorgeous 1938 Jefferson Nickel, MS67 Full Steps

1938 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. Ex: Compradore Collection. A simply gorgeous representative of this popular first-year issue, impressively toned with soft nickel-blue toning over most of the obverse and a gold-tinged reverse. Boldly struck and carefully preserved, with a single inconsequential graze on the portrait precluding an even finer designation. Population: 6 in 67 Full Steps, 0 finer (4/09).(Registry values: P1) (#84000)

Sold for: $4,312.50 (includes BP [IMG])
    Bid Source: HA.com/Live Ended: May 27, 2009

Personal Comments: PCGS is notoriously more liberal with the full step designation than NGC. This coin appears to be no exception. From the photo, several small bridges are visible on the steps. However, the Heritage description is accurate in that this is definitely a high end MS67 regardless of grading service.
