I thought Aidan might appreciate this.My coin dealer got in a selection of 1930's-40's NZ coins, mostly with the kiwi reverse but this one caught my eye so I picked it up.I really like the reverse design.:thumb:
I wonder what all the little symbols mean.

It is the crowned shield from the New Zealand Coat-of-Arms enclosed within a border, which is a Maori design. That is a very nice .500 fine silver 1942 Half Crown (2 Shillings & 6 Pence) (or '2/6' for short).

    Aidan.

Nice! I agree, really attractive reverse.

Thalia's first coin from NZ was the 1953 Queen Elizabeth II "Coronation Crown" (big surprise there, eh?).

By the way George, does Thalia have either of these? I ran across a bunch of Elizabeth coins, including Canadian cents from the 60's-70's that I thought I had lost. They're hers for free if you're interested.PM me.
