I would appreciate some opinions based solely on this Obverse image, as to whether this coin would qualify for grading by the "top tier" TPG. Would the dings in the prominent areas, etc., and scratches in fields result in an unacceptable coin for grading? Would the coin obverse qualify as "mint state"? I'm just asking for experienced "opinions" to settle a disagreement. There are appreciable funds ventured, based on the average opinion of "a coin forum" members. I know there are some members of this forum who were/are? employees of the TPG firms, and have a much better understanding than I of the organizational grading criteria. Please post your respected comments. Thank you in advance for your participation. Rich :thumb:
Damaged in my opinion. As for TPG opinion, since their criteria are purely subjective - 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
25% chance of grading ms60, 75% chance of UNC details, damage. Maybe the scratches aren't as bad as the pictures make them appear.
Maybe this one is from the Freddie Krueger collection. :smile IMO: Damaged and not worth sending in for grading. :ninja: TC
