Does eBay require photos of both the obverse and reverse of raw coins, or just slabbed coins? I looked in all their help pages I could find, and didn't see this answered...
I am not sure, but if looking to sell, the policy should not matter; if you’re hoping get a fair price, there is no reason to not provide both obverse and reverse photos.
Here is all the info you need, might as well get it right from the horse's mouth: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/currstamps.html
I always thought photos of both sides were required... but apparently not. Where's rlm ... he's the expert on this stuff.
When I find auctions with pics of only one side of a coin, i have the seller email me a pic of the other side. Usually, no one else bids (why would they?) and I get a deal.
Ebay requires that you have a picture with all listings, but they don't care what it is a picture of. You can post a photo of your cat if you want to. But you will do better selling if you have a photo of both sides. Personally I use photoshop to attach them into one file.
At least one picture is required. If the coin is slabbed AND older than 1980 you MUST show a picture of BOTH sides of the complete slab. That generally means four pictures are needed: -- a picture of the complete front of the slab -- a close-up of the coin's obverse -- a picture of the complete back of the slab -- a close-up of the coin's reverse
Thanks everyone...those were the same guidelines I had found, but I thought there were other requirements.
