Ok, I've been working on this one for the past few days and managed to get enough crud off the obverse to snap a photo. The reverse (not pictured) will require more soaking. I think I can make out the words FR AN REX on the obverse in front of the face? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Reverse doesn't have anything identifiable as of yet as I put the coin back to soak. I'm not looking for a dull attribution...just a lead for possible coins based onbthe obverse so maybe I can attribute it myself once I get it all cleaned up.

I'm stumped... all I can say is that the bust looks female, probably Helena or another early 4th century empress. But they would not have REX in their legends. If it was a 4th century empress, it might be AVG but with the letters damaged.

I can pretty much guarantee that the word(s) are FRAN REX when looking through a loupe. Interesting that it doesn't match up.

    Perhaps 17th or 18th century France ????

    It doesn't look Roman.

Fran Rex is the "the regent of France" its got to be modern.

Ah man, really? How modern? I'll see if I can manage to find a date on the coin today...

Like Ripley said, probably 17-18th century, France. Modern yes, but not made yesterday, I suppose you could say its an antique.

Ok, here is a picture of some of the best detail on the "reverse". The design appears to be a floral pattern, with the word possibly being MLIOLIA or ILIOLIA.

    I'd like to buy a letter, please...:D
I believe the word is LILIOLIA. Any info appreciated...as I said before, the design appears to be a flower arrangement on the reverse, obverse shows a bust with some letters that include "FREN REX"...

I was told that that the obverse could be Louis XV, which would possibly put it in the mid 1700s...do you guys think this is accurate?

Time for some more ancients I need help identifying...
This one says "CONST" on the reverse and looks like someone holding a bow in one arm and some symbol in the other...

The coin before the last one is a Coinstantius II "Fallen Horseman" type
