Good evening everybody. I found an 1892-CC Morgan at a local antique store. The coin has had "lite cleaning" to quote the written description. Being a newbie grading coins is something I'm just learning. Conservatively the coin appears to be Fine to Very Fine. The asking price is $65. Is this a good deal? How much is the coin worth if I sold it to a dealer? How much is the coin worth if I sold it to another collector? Thank you for reading and any assistance is greatly appreciated. KC
I don't have a pic of the 1892-CC Morgan. The 1892-CC Morgan is not as nice as th sample pic provided. I used this Morgan as an example because it's from my collection and is the best I can do to provide an example of the condition.
Still kinda hard to give you an idea on what its grade would be, but in VF condition its about $300.00 and MS-60 would be around $1,500.00
Worse case scenario (or to be ultra conservative) if the coin is Very Good to Fine and has had "lite cleaning" would you buy it for $65? Your help with this post AND the other one is awesome.

I had got one of their mags. at a local food store and it had a code in it for a free year. I have 32 days left lol not sure if they still do it or not

Go on the bay, click advanced search, type 1892 cc morgan and select sold listings. It will show all 92 cc's sold over last couple of months.
I think so too. I hope it's still available. It is for sale in an antique store and I was not the only interested party. If it was meant to be than it will still be there.
Antique malls are usually not the place to find under-priced coins, so I cannot help but to be very skeptical. Almost all of the booths in our local AMs are rented by dealers (or were when I still had one) and used to liquidate mostly widgets and dreck to novelty or uneducated buyers. The only CDN I have on this device is not current, but $65 is less than half the quoted bid in VG. Unless you know what you're doing and are able to identify problem, altered, counterfeit, etc, etc coins, and unless you have a return option (most antique malls I know of do not all them), I would probably pass.
It IS an antique mall where a shirt pocket dealer rents out a tiny little display cabinant. All his other coins are priced right between wholesale and retail. His pricing on his other coins has been pretty darn accurate. Logically I don't see how he would have priced this one, especially one so recognizable, at half of what one in Good condition fetches on eBay.
Maybe it slipped....just like the Old Man from Pawn Stars had that CC for sale with the regular Morgan for 50 bucks Just kidding Like it's already been said, buy it only if you're certain it's not a fake, take your scale with you. And only if they accept returns. No risk, no reward.
