I have got this '55 cent with many errors on it, what do you think?
-cracked die edge to skull area
    -cracked die under Lincoln
    -double date 55?

Die cracks on Lincoln's forehead, a nice die crack below him, die deterioration doubling for the rest. :)

Hey thanks all for the replies.
Is it very common? Worth more than a....penny?

I think the bottom 'die crack' is the selling point, but I am a just a student, imo, it would sell--

Put it on ebay and we can find out for sure what it is worth :)

It's not for sale. Just curious of what I have here. Thanks

Am having difficulty seeing the bottom of the coin . . . but thought it might possibly be a 'retained cud' because of the way the 'crack' extends over the rim.

Usually retained cuds need to have more vertical displacement than just the crack. I wouldn't quite call this one a retained cud, but it probably turned into one later in the die's life.

the way I see this it is a late stage crack / early stage retained cud. The die has split enough that the rim no longer lines up properly but has not yet detached completely.
