I remember the thread over on the other board you guys posted at. I lurked. It would be a feather in a cap for sure.

I would love all 12 to be silver but I am frugal and cant see spending that amount when coppers do just fine for some. Heck I love my claudius I AE better then any other 12 caesars era coin I own, even octavian.

Here are two of my 12 Caesar tetradrachms.

We can start with Vespasian Tetradrachm, Alexandria Mint
Obverse: AVTOK KAIS SEBA OVESPASIANOV, laureate head right, LB Before
Reverse: ALEXANDREIA Alexandria standing left, wearing elephant headress, holding wreath and sceptre

    DSC00212.jpg DSC00213.jpg

    Nero Tetradrachm, Alexandria Mint
Obverse: NERW KLAU KAIS SEB GER, radiate bust right wearing aegis
REVERSE: AVTOKPA, helmeted and curassed bust of Roma right

Also the eyes have been deliberately punched out sometime along its life. I personally would like to be as a part of damnatio memoriae but can't say for certain. I have a total of three Nero tetrodrachms but this is probably the best one for details.

I also have a Galba tetradrachm that I attached to this post but it is a budget Galba and not of the greatest quality.

My first Cesar coin. A weak strike and irregular planchet but nice detail nonetheless.

That is a very desirable portrait coin Eduard

Dupondius for Germanicvs struck under Caligula. This coin commemorates the return of 2 of the legionary standards lost in the battle of the Teutoburger Forest.

Thank you, Bing. I thought so too, and best if all, it was quite affordable as it was possibly overlooked due to the weak strike.

I've looked for a Dupondius like this but they are usually too expensive. Also they are highly faked. Have you checked yours against the fake databases?

    Eduard Supporter**

Actually no, I haven't checked, but now that you mention it, I think I will do that.
