I found this in one of my vast piles of junk. It's just a cast copy right? Nothing else here? It's 30mm.
By diagnostics like lack of detail in protected areas and overall look of the coin, I would sure assume its a cast copy.
The photo looks like bronze but the type should be silver. That is a bad sign. There appears to be a network of curvy lines on the surface that photograph as raised (I hope they are raised). That could indicate a crackled (clay?) mold used in low end cast copies if they are part of the coin rather than just drizzled on the surface. I'd put this in a 'Black Museum' which many dealers have if for no other reason so they can show people why they should patronize people who know rather than cute kids at the archaeological sites. I would expect many of this sort of thing to walk into your store. Wrong metal casts seem to be coming back from deployment with soldiers here lately judging from some of the inquiries I've seen. I guess the melt value of a silver tet is high enough that low end fakers have to move to base metals.
