Just happened to see this masterpiece in perusing E-bay, and thought it was the most classic piece of "bad taste" AT that I have seen in a long time. Talk about market unacceptability!
If you're into that sort of thing, I think this is a masterfully done job. Some people don't care if it is AT, they are just after the cool colors, and I'm pretty sure this is one of the best one's I've seen in a while.
I really like the magenta fading to chartreuse with hints of chateau green. Gorgeous (if I do say so myself). However, I did struggle with Color Fundamentals 101 back in '63... I still can't figure out how three (or four) primary colors can make every other color.
Oh I don't know, it is sort of like art. The seller has a bunch of these, I put a bid on 2 of them. If anything else, I have a blast imaging them
Not something I would want but the guy did a great job on the obverse. Look how he was able to control where the toning is. I'll guess he has had a lot of practice.
Exactly, the dudes an artist, he has a maple leaf, and a panda that looks cool, as I said I put a bid on two of them, it would be a neat little collection to have if you get a few different types. Image them, make a combo photo, and print. It is really something to see how he controls the toning, and yet there seems to be no spotting from the solution. He only wants $50 for his paintings and you get $20 worth of silver to boot. There is no way anyone could seriously take this as NT so I see nothing wrong here.
Also, he says no heat or chemicals are used. I don't see how he can control the toning with electrolysis or something but it does explain the lack of spotting. He really has me intriqued, I am going to try to start a dialog with him by asking how long it takes per coin for him to "paint" one.
