just purchased an old bank coin book

I recently bought a book that banks used to give kids to save their dimes in. It's not in very good shape but there were 18 mercury dimes in it ranging from 1935 to 45. The coins are discolored from being in the slots for so long. Other than that, I was just excited to find such a thing. I think it was a pretty good deal for $10.00. I was just wondering if the book had any value at all since I removed the coins to prevent any further deterioration. What would you do?

the dimes are great for $10

 

I would put it back together as it was. I think it's a better collectable that way. can't really hurt the coins at this point. great find & price.

 

theres $1.40 worth of silver in each dime what dates are they

 

I actually collect these. At $10 you did good. I would leave the coins in the holder. What bank? Could you post an image?

I'm not very good with pictures but here's what I've got. The book is from Cobb Federal Savings Bank, Marietta, GA. It contained 1-1935, 1-1936,3-1937,3-1940, 3-1941,3-1942,2-1943,1-1944 and 1-1945. I was really excited when the guy brought it out and showed it to me.

 

Thats cool not sure about value on the book but if you decedid to sell it make sure you factor in the silver value as well. And dont take it to a coin dealer. They will only give you money based on the dimes and more thrn likly throw away the book. Mercury dimes are my favirote coin I need to get me one of these
