Hi everyone Got this presidential dollar with some weird hairlines on it, like an aura around the president. Seem to be on the coin, not the holder. Seen anything like it before, is this common? What kind of defect in a die can result in such error? Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I think posting this thread in the Errors section would have been more suitable but I am unable to move it, and don't want to start a new thread over there. is there any way this thread could be moved?
I think Coleguy is right. While common on the early date Cents, I think it might actually be rarer to find radial striation lines on a modern coin, particularly that far into the field.
Thanks for your replies. Had no idea whether to consider this coin an error or something else. I would be happy to know that the striations are from a worn die and actually have an error coin over here Never seen something like it, even though these coins have huge mintages. Looked as if someone played with a key on the coin. Even thought it could have been the thing that rolls the coins into 25 pcs rolls that left those marks. Funny that PCGS labeled the coin without mentioning any errors. Waiting for more replies Thanks
