You know, they do make an Ace 150. New those are around $153. Maybe you can find one of those for around $100. You would have to look up the difference between the two.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPERB-Garr...104?pt=US_Metal_Detectors&hash=item35c8da3820 is this the kind were talking about?
here in michigan some states parks are open to metal detecting with no permit and others only certain spots
i have a bounty hunter quick silver i like its my first one so i cant compare but it was only $99 shipped with a free pin pointer no matter what detector you get you need a pinpointer makes finding it so easy
If all your looking for is metal then yea, that'll work. But until you get out there and start swinging you have no idea just how much iron and tin foil is in the ground. If I were to turn mine on to all metal mode in most city parks or schools it would sound like a geiger counter in the middle of a nuclear test site...lol The Ace 250 isn't much more and you'll be happier for it in the long run, I know too many people who bought really cheap machines, never found much of anything and gave up on the hobby. I'm not trying to push you into buying something you can't afford, I'd just hate to see you spend that kind of money and not be able to find anything worth keeping. If you get as addicted to detecting as some of us have you'll find enough change in a year or so to be able to upgrade to a different machine.
If you get lucky like I did, and find a school that no one else has been hitting for a while this is what you can find. It took me 3 months to clean that school out! What I didn't get a picture of was the 18 rings (7 silver) 2 necklaces, both silver and a 10K St.Christopher medallion.
Ihave a FISHER CZ 5 QUICKSILVER DETECTOR THAT HAS GIVEN ME GREAT SERVICE FOR 24 YEARS. It hss the pin pointer built into it and so far its been trouble free. It wasnt cheep at 1200 dollars but i had it shipped next day air from cal to North Carolina. You get what you pay for and i think all are about the same when it comes to finding coins. Ive really enjoyed this machine and everytime i called on it to go hunting its never let me down. I have always found something in a coin each time i hunt with it mostly nothing great but a coin just the same. Like most things you buy you get what you pay for. Maybe you will do as i have and buy a cheep modle from radio shack to see if this hobby is for you. its a hot kinda dirty at times hobby that has more downs than ups. Enjoy it its fun.
Still arguing over whether or not to buy it. Found a few that were about 100-140 (ace 250) on the bay but I don't know how to buy it, how does the bay work ? Some seemed too low but that just made me suspicious .
Yes, he had a Ace 350 and won the 250 in a raffle. He doesn't need it so he wanted to sell it. He's happy with $150 and I'm happy with a brand new metal detector. It will be quite an upgrade from my White's CoinMaster 2900D that I got about 25 years ago. It's in used shape but still works fine...would it be worth putting on ebay?
You need to sign up and make an account. It also requires a paypal account. The prices you see are either starting bid prices or current bid prices. The amount goes up after every bid. Most bidding happens toward the end of the auction and prices can go up rapidly. I'm assuming you are a minor, you should talk to your father before signing up and bidding.
Just got back from metal detecting at a local park/playground with my new Ace 250...I found 16 coins which totaled just shy of $2.00. No silver but I'm happy with it.
If u guys can find an Ace 250 cheap for me, let me know! Haha, im still searching. The best I found for an Ace 250 was $175
