I did the denomination set of these cuban stars. the 40 centavos in better grade get so expensive.

Hi, Derick...A search of eBay was fruitless for this stunning coin. Was it a low-mintage issue, or one-off commemorative?

For the last dozen years or so, I have become much more aware of Uruguay, and even briefly considered retiring there. My Lady wasn't thrilled with the prospect, so I wrote it off. Sigh.

This fine example rekindles my enthusiasm...I love all the arcane symbols! I'll bet dollars to dawg-biscuits the edge isn't reeded, either. Thanks!!

This coin seems kind of scarce. It is a non circulating issue and they minted 50,000. Due to the design it became highly collectable in South America with most specimens in collections. The cat no. is KM 115. It also comes in a nice box from the mint. I have gone through South America and let me tell you, Uruguay is NICE for retiring (not for working as such). Best in Latin America according to most, good weather, good politics and cheap living. I love it.
