To tell a value we would need to see photos of both sides.... None the less---none of these above are rare dates and most of the time Wheat cents are worth $0.02-$0.05 each. Speedy
On a "coolness" scale of 1-10, I'd rate them a 6. As far as "what they're worth" goes...not worth the time it took you to scan them, and upload them, and post them on this thread...unless you are a coin collector. In that case, they are priceless.
ilovecoins, if you are just getting started collecting, you need to get the 2007 red book. it is a book that shows the values, and all you need to know about a paticular coin. you can get it at walmart or anywhere that they sell books. i reccomend this to people that don't have the book. that is a must in the collecting hobby. :hail:
Last I heard and saw ( went through my collection today) there are no New Orleans mint for cents. That is just an odd angle to see the D mint mark.
For anyone starting collecting I would suggest some reading first---go to this link and read all of the links that GDJMSP has listed---then go on and explore the rest of his link collection. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=13996 Speedy
I always thought they were called cents, but then I noticed the US Mint often refers to them as pennies. I guess they could be wrong. It got too confusing, so I switched to collecting Morgan dollars.
:goofer: dd: :loud: Okay, to get serious now! I copied the picture of the Cent in question (picture of the Cent furtherest to the right) into my email and blew up, lightened and added contrast to the picture and it looks like a 1944-D with a weak Mintmark. However, if you move your Mouse cursor over the pictures that cool pennys provided, it briefly displays the file name and the file says "1944-S". Well as we all know, pictures can be very deceiving! cool pennys has some nice old Wheat Cents that are valued at $0.03 to possibly $0.05 each unless the 1940-S, 1944-D and 1944-S happened to be any RPM or OMM Varieties. However, that is fairly doubtful with the 1944-D and 1944-S Cents as these have weak Mintmarks and I have yet to see any RPM or OMM Varieties with these Dated Cents with weak Mintmarks. cool pennys shopuld check out the Mintmark on the 1940-S Cent closely, as there are several RPMs listed for this Date from San Francisco (i.e. 1940-S/S and 1940-S/S/S).
