You just can't say no it's not a DDO without explanation of your opinion that is an open ended statement!!! I see an extra tail on the 3 at the bottom and doubling in liberty and the motto light moderate doubling not dramatic doubling. But I do appreciate your opinion just clarify next time it would be appreciated:thumb:

    OK, how about this.

Wow, is that really a DDO Lincoln cent? It must be really rare. You should be proud to own it. Where in the world did you find it? Did you cherrypick it? Wish I could find stuff like this. You are so good at finding these. I'm so glad you are here so I can learn from you. Thanks for sharing.

I hate to burst your bubble on the reverse but it isn't the result of a clogged die either. Prior to the redesign of the obverse, with Lincoln being reduced to a low relief desigh, it was fairly common to see the reverse look like this in that area. The combonation of higher relief of Lincoln's bust and a weaker strike pressure resulted in the metal flowing into the bust and a weak strike on the reverse. with the redesign of the obverse to a low profile bust this problem was resolved.

I agree with Idhair and non-cents. I had a very hard time at first too and I'm still having some difficulties, but I am now very confident I can tell the difference between machine and true double dies. I have been studying the lincoln source site. It is a great site with a ton of info and great pictures, very detailed.
