I already had this type, but not from Antioch and definitely not in the good condition (a little hard gunk aside) that these are in. I knew I had to have them. I was the only bidder on one of them and one of only two on the other :D Talk about a slow bidding day!

Obv: CONSTAN-TINOPOLIS, Constantinopolis helmeted, facing left
Rev: Victory on prow, SMANI in ex, Antioch mint
    Coin #1:RIC VII 114
    Coin #2:RIC VII 92

Cool coin! And with an interesting mintmark too IMO. Anyone else that has these (and I know many of you do) can go ahead and post them here.

Shows how much I know. I don't even know where the mintmark is!

It's the group of letters at the bottom of the reverse. On yours its CONSIA, which means it's from Constantinople, the very city the coin commemorates. I can give you a full attribution if you need it.

The difference between 114 and 92 is weight. #92 should be heavier (over 2g or so) matching the two soldiers, two standards coins while #114 is lighter matching the one standard variety. Have you weighed your coins? Looking at style, I would guess both to be heavier.

My 1.0g #114 is partly light due to condition was sold as having a misspelled obverse legend NI rather than IN but that could be a factor of poor condition.

Still need to buy a scale to weigh coins, so I went with the fact that the second is thicker (and so, heavier). I could be wrong with my attributions of course.

    Nice coins everybody!

Only ancient I ever bought as a kid but sold it when I got back into collecting in 08. Its legends were off center and not worth much. I dont miss it.

I wish it was in the condition these were. Nice examples.
