Hey, I was wondering if you guys have any thoughts on this 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. It is a B7, 3 Leaves variety. It has been holed unfortunately. Do you think it is a silver plug variety?

    Not from what I see,

    Note:

Pictures in a holder are worthless.

That looks like a soft unsafe PVC flip. If so, remove the coin from there and get it into a safe archival flip. It would be a shame if a PVC flip damaged your coin.

I'm not seeing any evidence of a silver plug.

    I have to agree.
the Photo posted are worthless in one way. their not a closeup of Obv+Rev and rim.
Then we can tell more about the coin.

Take it, or buy it, is two different things, worth-less now :(

Worth less, yes, but far from worthless. I have a few budget-minded clients who would jump at the chance and be honored to own that very coin if priced accordingly. Just a "pendant" she is not.

Try to grade it, it will never receive a grade, alter coin, period !!!! :(

So what and who cares? If you do not like it, that is fine, but it is beyond foolish to imply that this coin has no value because it has been holed and would not grade out. The history this coin represents is absolute, and this may include why it was holed in the first place. If you open your eyes and look beyond the superficial, you may develop an appreciation for what such an item is instead of condemning it for what it is not.

    agreed, agreed & agreed.

It can be graded, but slabbed & graded of course not.

    Could get a details grade.

It is still a wonderful piece of history!

That said, if I owned it I would invest in getting it expertly plugged, just to increase the eye appeal.

Still, either way, a great piece of history-- ok, now I am repeating myself.

Great coin. I'd love to own it. And I can't tell about the plug from the picture.

I'm not smart enough to say it's real but if it is, it's far from worthless.

OK, I'll try. XF- 45 sharpness, small hole at 1215 o'clock possibly lightly cleaned long ago now well toned medium gray with lighter gray highlights net VG-10 to F-12.
