Took some more pictures of an 1878-P 8TF VAM 18 Morgan dollar. Strong doubling is one of my favorite features on these early Morgans.
When I take the actual pictures, I hold the camera with my hands. There's a rubber eyepiece on each lens of the scope. Oddly enough, the camera lens fits snuggly into the rubber cup around the scope's eyepiece. It provides some stability... which is good because the shutter speeds tend to be slow (1/2 - 1/20 second). The camera is automatic. The only setting I make is preselecting white balance for "light bulb source". I already had the camera and the scope was about $200 (though I received it as a gift ).
My digital camera automatically focuses with every shutter click. How do you prevent that and what does it focus on? It depends on an infrared bounce. Ruben
Wish I had a good answer for you! It's an Olympus D40Z camera. It focuses on every click. I can hear the lens moving in and out every time I push the shutter. It has a macro mode, but I leave it off.
I use my 16X eye peice holding it on my cam`s lens and it takes great pics but I do not know how to down size them so that I can download them on this site , any thoughts? My cam is a SanyoVPC-503
Your camera software should have a Resize tool that you can use - that changes the file size. Or you can also crop the picture to just show the part or parts you want - that also reduces the file size. Or, if you have Microsoft Office on your computer, just open the program called Microsoft Picture Editor - that will allow you to edit the pics in many ways. If all else fails - every computer there is has a program called Paint - you can change the pic size using that as well.
Or you could upload them to a service like www.imageshack.us and copy/paste the code into the thread here so you can view them here but it isn't actually hosted here. The thumbnail feature is very nice because people do no have to download the entire full sized picture to see the image. They can get a preview by looking at the thumbnail image and to see the detailed pic they can just click it. The threads load faster and you can post pics that are 1600x1200 or larger to show minute details. Here's an example. Hope that helps -- itZme
