1967 Quarter wierd edge?

    I don't thing this is mint related damage, but what would have caused this? The middle of the edge is deeper than the outsides of the edge. Thanks all.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

    Acidic environment. Copper, being much softer, is eaten away by acids much faster than the nickel.
