Congratulations. A beautiful set and a worthy accomplishment. I remember all to well, carrying a wad of those in my pocket in 1969.
You can read the grading guidelines at the PCGS website to get a better idea, But you will find slight differences between grades actually a 64PPQ is a Very attractive note with good margins but may have issues like corner bumps which bring it down on grade in comparison a 65PPQ is a higher graded Note but almost always it will be off center favoring one side or the other in my book i would rather have a 64PPQ just more attractive to look at Now a 69PPQ has virtually no issues and essentially is a perfect note from a technical stand point, to give you an idea there roughly only 4 69PPQ,s Graded per the following schedule, i can think a a couple right off the top of my head: Series 661 5 Cent, also has the only 70PPQ ever graded by PCGS for MPC Series 661 $1 Series 681 $5 Series 681 $10 There are multiples in the Series 661 5 Cent and $1 but there pretty rare to say the least
Here,s one you will enjoy, i picked this up a couple years back but since we have some new comers i thought i would share it with you Its a Series 661 $20 68PPQ just gorgeous!! as i think you will agree this is the highest grade for this note and the only one If the post is interested i will post more
Ok, you asked for it..LOL this is a favorite of mine from the Series 692 in the $1 denomination the art work well you be the judge, this is the highest grade with a population Of only 3, issued for Vietnam 10/7/1970 Withdrawn: 3/15/1973 (dont worry i will post more )
Here,s a bonus for you hard core mpc,ers Series 651 $5 in 68PPQ very rare for two reasons first the overall printing was only 1,600,000 other then replacements This by far is the lowest printing of any mpc series or denomintion, sounds like allot but it really isnt in comparison to some that are over 20,000,000 !! Also this note has a population of 1 and this is the highest grade!! Issued: 4/28/69 Withdrawn: 5/19/69 Primary countries used: Korea, Japan, Libya
Times have sure changed that,s for sure! most graded high end examples can go for thousands, that,s thousands with a "T"
