Anyone familiar with the 2008 w/ reverse of 2007 Silver Eagle and its price? Is anyone at CT familiar with the 2008 w/ reverse of 2007 Silver Eagle and their prices? My sheet says something like $400 but I see all kinds of high BIN prices for this coin. I currently have one offered to me at what appears to be a great price. It's very mark-free & housed in a mint capsule and box. I don't know anything about the particular bullion coin or its market. It would be nice to hear your comments if this bullion coin is your area of expertise.
Hmmmm. If I recall correctly, no design changes were implemented between 1987 and 1988 on the Silver Eagle. There was a design change in 2008 and some reverse dies from 2007 were used in the presses creating the 2008 Rev of 2007 Silver Eagles. Is this what you are referring too?
They're pricey and if you can pick one up for under$400 then have at it. I was offered a crack at one a few weeks ago but passed because I thought the price was too high and I expect it to sink in the future.
check this out http://www.coinlink.com/News/gold-s...irculated-silver-eagles-with-reverse-of-2007/ I have one
i remember when i first seen it posted on cointalk so i ordered and got mine tryed a second time and they were gone
IMO, this one is overpriced right now. It has close to 50K mintage so is not rare. If you were lucky to get one at mint issue price, you scored big time. However, I would not want to buy into it above $250. With the current ATB issues, you can get 5 ounces of silver and much lower mintage for a lot less cash. Back in 2008, 50K mintage for modern silver issues was considered low but not any more. TC
Oh yeah, it is a bullion coin. Yep. I tried to change the dates in the thread but CT doesn't allow me to change the title of the thread. The subject of this thread is the 2008 with reverse of 2007 coin. I've learned (in this thread) that the mintage is 50,000 and it is not as rare as the prices currently would indicate. The sheet is $400 and I could probably get the coin for $320. TopCatCoin suggested a good price might be $250. Green expects the price to sink in the future. This is all data that I did not have before posting this thread. Thanks everyone.
