cool i actualy found a real error this time

its one of many 1944 wheats i have 44 and 46 seem to be the most common date

i can see the top part beign lamanation error

but what about the indent/gauge it looks like it was pressed with the indent alredy there since you can see the wheat ears inside the indent

grade should be in the middle of f -vf

    Enochian,

You'll also see the design elements underneath lamination peels. Because of this, it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish a lamination(or delamination) peel from a struck through. Since this obviously has some lamination errors going on, I'd say that is what's also going on with the wheat ear.

There are certainly people out there who collect lams(is Abe still around this place?), but the premiums aren't huge for circulated examples. Maybe a few bucks.

the lower one would be a lamination peel and the upper one is a retained lamination.

Delamination errors usually occur when there are defects in the alloy such as the presence of contaminants. In the case of your coin, one area has simply peeled away while the other has stayed along for the ride.
