Looks like it may have been replated?

 

maybe about Xtra Fine. Here's Mine 1943 D/D Steel cent w/ crack die variety from 2' clock to 7' clock.

I can't tell if the splotches on the coin are corrosion/stains, or if the coin has been replated...

 

What do you look for to tell if its replated or not

 

Does the edge have the same finish as the faces?

The blanks were punched from sheets of zinc plated steel. They had no zinc on the edges.
Coins with zinc on the edge have been replated after leaving the mint. Replating is damage.
