baught 100 more wheats for $5 went threw them last night for my books and found this i usualy seperate by date then go back threw and find the best looking ones to keep when im looking at dates i rarely look at the backs intill now
cool i actualy found a real error this time its one of many 1944 wheats i have 44 and 46 seem to be the most common date i can see the top part beign lamanation error but what about the indent/gauge it looks like it was pressed with the indent alredy there since you can see the wheat ears inside the indent grade should be in the middle of f -vf
Enochian, You'll also see the design elements underneath lamination peels. Because of this, it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish a lamination(or delamination) peel from a struck through. Since this obviously has some lamination errors going on, I'd say that is what's also going on with the wheat ear.
very nice thank you i guess ill put it in a 2x2 and just hold on to it they dont raise value much do they?
There are certainly people out there who collect lams(is Abe still around this place?), but the premiums aren't huge for circulated examples. Maybe a few bucks.
So does 2 varietys at tue same time happen often. So what your saying is the lamanation on the bottom part has pelled all tje way off will the obe on top hasent in all these years
Delamination errors usually occur when there are defects in the alloy such as the presence of contaminants. In the case of your coin, one area has simply peeled away while the other has stayed along for the ride.
