This one just came in the mail. What do you think it grades? Are the surfaces original? Thanks in advance. :thumb:

The bust half looks original to me, looks to have an old paper tone from a 2x2 envelope. I think it grades right around VF-30, I'll get the variety for you when I get home, I'm at work now.

    Cool, thanks!
Anyone else have an opinion on grade? Or does VF-30 sound about right?

I may have been a little rough on it at 30. IMO it's either a 30 or 35.

I like it at VF-30. Looks nice to me based off these pictures.

One thing I like about this one is the detail of the neck feathers. My other two Bust Halves (1817 and 1829) don't have that detail because of a lower grade and a weak strike, respectively.

I'll say VF-30. I don't see any obvious signs of cleaning. Nice coin!:thumb:

    It is O.110, R2

And I'd call it 25 - no more, no less. This date did not produce poorly-struck coins like previous years, so the lack of detail you see at the wing is all wear.

But the coin looks very original. :)

    Thanks!:smile

What do you guys think would be a fair value for this coin?

I think it would sell for $75-$80.

In a retail setting, this is about right

I paid around there, so I am happy with the purchase. :smile I mainly buy just to add to my collection as opposed to reselling the coin, but I'm still glad I didn't really overpay.
