1923 s with clashed die (wheat imprint from reverse )Also some clashing is shown on the reverse by the E in ONE!Why is the date look like this ??
Looking at it from my perspective it just appears to be one of the wood grain cents that were so common for branch minted coins from that era. Perhaps with a different lighting setup and image angles what the OP sees might come into view easier.
Why do you keep posting this stuff? This is a typical 1923S AG coin. Nothing more.. you are misleading the people that don't know any better with your post. I sure wish a Mod would step up to the plate here. This is getting old very quickly. If it were questions I could see it but its not.. So far many of the people here have been responding for the same reason that I am.. trying to dispel this banter.
Why be disrespectful ??? Again I will repeat everyone is entitled to an opinion but none of us have the right to cut down another person ... Please stop posting nasty messages on my post it is not welcomed nor respected, I don't post nasty post on anybody's post no matter what opinion I have . I respect those that respect me and give advise that is helpful as I 'am no expert and still learning . But there is what appears to be Wheat imprints on the obverse as also some sort of clashing on the reverse by the E in ONE , and the date I just wanted answers as to why it looked smeared on the 192. Post helpful information or I would appreciate if you don't post at all!!! Thanx DK "RESPECT":thumb:
Keep disrespecting my post and I will start criticizing and disrespecting your post!!!! Grow up or die !!!:dead-horse::devil:
Also just as a note, you shouldn't have to invert the colors on your coins to show a certain aspect. If it really is a variety or error, it should show up just as well in a photo taken normally. I don't see any indications of a clash on either the normal color or the photo negative style. A clash probably wouldn't even be visible on a coin with such a low grade as yours. I would recommend reading sites such as error-ref.com (huge error database...lots of great information and clear pictures), coppercoins.com (possibly the largest database of lincoln cent die varieties), and errorvariety.com. These sites will help you gain insightful knowledge that may assist you in attributing your own coins without the help of others.
I appreciate the knowledge and advise non-cents and also the change of your post !!!Much Respect!!:thumb: "Boys will be Boys while Men will Be Men!!!DDK
I wasn't threating anybody's life that is a saying "Grow up or Die " meaning be mature in life and live and learn or get out the way of others who are trying to learn, succeed, and be productive !!! Again this goes back to " Boys will be boys while the Men will be Men !Simple Theory nothing complex:dead-horse:
If your trying to learn perhaps you should learn to listen. I have been in the error\variety field longer than you have been alive young man. If you would like to exchange numismatic resumes here in public you might be surprised. My fear is that the way you have been and continue to post your misleading people that are trying to find answers to their finds.
Well Jim that is not my purpose if that is what you are thinking!!! I have no reason to mislead anyone as I' am a student myself not an expert I can admit...But I will not tolerate any blatant disrespect or defamation of my character by no one !!! Being corrected when I' am wrong is another thing for I 'am not always correct nor perfect . I 'm not selling anything nor trying to just merely share and get opinions as also if you are this older mature gentlemen you should be shamed to put down another member especially when you represent your self as a Numismatist !!! But anyways HAPPY FATHERS DAY to:hail: all FATHERS
That is what many here are thinking not just me. You keep posting items that are not what you claim they are. You are not asking questions, you are making statements. This thread is a perfect example. You list this as a die clash. Sorry, but its not. You have listed I dont know how many coins are DoubleDdies, none of which were. NOW, as somebody who wants to learn as you say Would it not be better to post a picture and say. I suspect this coin is a DDO because.. Then it can either be confirmed by those who know or rebuked. When you come in and make a statement there are young kids that may take you as an expert simply because of the handle you have used here. Obviously we both now know thats not the case by your own admission. WHICH I RESPECT. Yes I am a numismatist, yes I did jump on you for continuing to post this stuff. For that I do owe you an apology and I do apologize. NOW, I will tell you that you will continue to be corrected on each and every post you make that is wrong so I would suggest that you either change your tactics or start posting factual information when you post pictures. If you would like more information on how to tell the difference between a DDO/DDR and MD, there are plenty of books, magazines and websites available out there that can teach that. You can learn alot here at CT if you listen, sort out the people who know what they are talking about and those that don't. When you start reading those books, magazines or websites perhaps you will run across some of the things that I have written over the years. Shouldn't be hard to find. Good Luck in whatever you do.
I appreciate the knowledge and will correct my errors I have made .. You and non-cents are right in correcting my errors when I 'am wrong and will consider a different approach to posting and getting feedback. Back to the basics seems like I have a lot more to learn as we all do in this field which I have no problem with doing for it could only educate and improve me... Also all of my post have not been wrongly posted the 1935 DDR Buffalo, the 1943 s/s/s and other post that I can name but besides that Jim I have much respect for you and your opinions and look for you to correct me anytime I' am wrong as a Numismatist Senior Member. Thanx for the understanding and enlightenment " I will listen and learn:thumb:
So once the dust settles, I think we all can learn here----Post correctly, i.e. with question marks attached and think about the years of experience a poster might have. I came here to learn about cents from those with knowledge. If I want to watch UFC, I got pay per view for that.. Happy Fathers Day to all!!!!!!! heheheheh
