Modern Canadian Coin Id?

My friend has this coin that she think is from 1981 ( I asked her online and she sent the pic thru the Internet.) here it is, what do you think it is? She says the date might be 1981 but at first she mistook it as a 1861. I can't get any more clear pics if your wondering because this is from her house, not mine.
