Maybe some kind of store card or token. Obverse looks like maybe Liberty cap on pole. Reverse looks like Irish harp possibly. I've never seen anything like it.

This link shows one that looks more similar to yours... http://numismatics.org/collection/1988.75.1

AE 1/2 penny of Walter Mould, United States, New Hampshire, 1776-1776.

I'm in agreement with CoinMike though... Looks like a replica to me as well.

Does this coin (?) really need 3 threads?

With the rarity of such a coin, thousands of casted fakes have since then flooded the many markets to capitalize on the rare coin hype. With the all to common signs of a cast one can quickly conclude that this is just another foreign fake, also being found in a suit case from a flea market does not aid in its authenticity.

DDK, we do not need more than ONE thread per subject. I have merged them all together to show you how it causes double, even triple posting among members. Do not do this again!

I believe it is a copy also, but it will not be satisfactorily settled on this thread, and I truly hope that those giving positive backing to the coin and value are being truthful and not pulling the leg of the OP, that is not unexpected, but it is not nice either. Jim

Genuine examples of this coin are cast but the design of the harp on the OP's coin is entirely different than the design on a legitimate coin, so I don't believe it's a counterfeit. BTW I don't know anything about colonials, although I'd like to learn, I pulled all of this information from pg. 242 of In Yankee Doodles Pocket.
