what causis this on a 1968S

    It's called machine doubling. It's common and unless extreme, carries no premium.

    I didn't see any doubling on them, it looks like the bottom of many of the letters have the lower part cut off. There is some pretty extreme MD on liberty with the coin though. Image160.jpg

    That is not what I was asking about though it was the sliced off portions of the wording that i was wondering about.

    There is mechanical doubling present on this coin. Very common for this year.
