1997 S silver dollar ?

    I wasnt aware that any ASE where made in San fan in 97 ? I just saw one NGC grade ms69 1997 S? is this right? Cant be,, its gotta be a fake.

    I suspect it is a slab labeling error - they do happen.

    Are you talking about the "S$1" on the slab? That just stands for silver dollar, it's not a mint mark designation.

    The 1997 was minted at the Philadelphia mint go to coinfacts.com bottom of page left side of page silver bullion and get all coins minted sorry I can't get the link on this one.

    Something else just struck me as a possibility - it could be a silver $1 commem. There were 3 of them in '97.
