    It is a British 19th century gaming token.

    They have all kinds of inscriptions on them.

    I have a similar one.

    Actually the OP's piece appears to date from the early to mid 1840s and also refers to the Prince of Wales, as the motto on the reverse is the one used for the Prince of Wales. I have to wonder that this is some sort of commemorative for Prince Albert Edward, who to his mother's chagrin became King Edward VII instead of King Albert I. He was born in 1841, and I am pretty sure the piece from the appearance of it must have been rendered thereafter.

    I do not have an exact measurement but it is the about the diameter of a US quarter.
