I'm not seeing the peg-leg I in LIBERTY...? Doesn't look like a proof (even an impaired one), either.
So then, what is the rarity of a D coin with the reverse issues. You agree that this one has the rays that break up at the stars and the straight G without the serif, right? Anybody else ever see this before? Have one?
What you have is a 64D BS (Business Strike) with an ODV-002 and a RDV-001 (obverse die variety/reverse die variety)...commonly referred to as a transitional variety. Larry Nienaber
Right. Who claimed otherwise? The funny thing is the transitional reverse. Which apparently might be plenty rare on a Biz strike, but apparently is also not worth much of a premium as a die variety/match up. Yet another melter for the smelter!
OK, I am now wading through 50 pounds of these things. It seems the strong hair obverse is about equally as common as the other in biz strike after 70. I have them both ways, with the small serif I and the regular. Is that true? Is there a net site that shows which obverses were normal?
That my friend is an excellent pic of the 64 proof thing. My question is about the subsequent years in biz strike. I have that obverse, I just want to know if it matters. Thanks!
