    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

If I'm not mistaken, the blanks are plated after being punched from the zinc strip.
A barrel plating process is used to put the copper finish on the blanks, making
it impossible to have a partially plated coin.
If I am wrong, someone will be along to correct me soon.

I was just wondering this new 2012 looks right on obverse side and edge but reverse looks bare it just struck me wrong know sometimes cleaning can mess up the shine or look but it looks un touched its above my inside

If one side of that cent was unplated it would show the zinc core as silver.

Lay a new coin down anywhere for a year. The side that is up will tarnish, leaving the down side still looking new. I think this is what you have.
