Should someone start a slab grading business???

    So I sold some PCGS PR70 First Strike Silver ATB Quarters on Ebay. I specifically stated in the add that the holders had scratches but the coins were problem free, no spots or toning. One guy bought 4 and now wants to return them because the slabs had scratches.... LMAO! He said "the coins themselves look great but when you look real close at the slabs they have scratches".

    So I got to thinking, with the amount of scratched slabs out there, could there be a business oppertunity here??? I'm thinking about having a large slab holder made and starting a grading company that will grade the plastic slabs on the same scale as gemstones.....

    IF = Internaly Fawless
    SS = lightly scratched
    S = Scratched
    VS = Very Scratched
    CR = Cracked
    VC = Very Cracked
    ARO= Anal Retentive Owner

    Gee Whizz!!!

    Just put the slabs inside larger slabs. The larger slab will carry the grades you designate, as well as preserve the inner slab from damage. GENIUS.

    Why don't they put the coins in airtight slabs of glass?

    Buy the slab, not the coin.

    Buy a slabless slab.

    Buy a coinless slabless slab.

    Since this is a serious thread, I thought I would add some serious wisdom. You should only buy coins with perfect packaging and a laminated certificate of authenticity. It is really the only way to tell it is real. Budda knows, the Chinese can't fake a NGC slab.
