Supposedly a coin that was planned to be issued in 1994, high levels of inflation didn't see this coin issued for circulation.

Saw this coin for sale a long time ago and missed my chance in getting it back then. Finally saw it for sale and didn't hesitate to get it.

I don't know how to describe the design but it looks like it was modelled from the old Soviet 20 kopek.

I'm not sure if there were any other denominations planned for issue.

It is very rare pattern. I never saw such coins in real life, but I saw it a couple of years ago in one of a Russian forums.

    Hey gxseries,

Just wondering what the mintage is for this pattern coin. Would you know?

Coins like this are exciting to come by. I've seen some low-mintage (150) Guatemala patterns go for auction. I should look into pattern coins more often.

    Thanks for sharing...

Hi mlov43, I'm afraid I do not know what the mintage is. To put this to perspective, the last time I saw this pattern for sale was more than 6 years ago. This economy is doing something interesting - some sellers hold onto scarcer coins, some desperate ones are forced to sell what they have. However, a lot more junk than ever before so the search becomes a lot harder.
