Diameter is slightly smaller than normal, weighs 3.08 grams, obverse fields are domed (kinda looks like high relief), reverse fields are wavy (high on the right, low on the left) , true railroad edge. Found in roll years ago.
Nope, just looks like it was encased at one point. Maybe in a pendant, jewelry, or as a "lucky penny". Post-strike damage. Keep up the hunt!
that is a formerly encased cent from a "lucky penny". A pendant bezel wouldn't put that kind of pressure on the rim.
