I know this is post damage, but I am wondering if anyone might know what the stamp is from and why is it on the $ 100.00 bill ? Is it a bank stamp ? Dave
Well, the blue ink is definitely from a bank strap stamp. The black markings are a little more intricate-looking, but I would guess are also from a bank stamp.
Could have been two separate stamps. When the stamp partially misses the strap, the ink is transferred to the note immediately below it.
