I have 500 dollars in ones and am searching through them. I am looking for silver certificates, old bills, star notes and errors. What are some basic errors I should be looking for? Is THis an error? The seal seems off centered. Notice it is past the E in one.
I also found a star note a looked it up, the run size is 320000 but the total printed is over 7 million! I'm confused, which one should I be looking at? also is this bill rare! If it is I can post a pic. I heard 640000 notes printed was rare, but I don't know if its run size or total printed.?
http://www.tickleyourfancycurrency.com/SRstarnotesFORSALE.htm This link will help you determine retail price for modern short run stars. There are usually more then one print run per district/per series. If there is only one short (640k) or less printed then it's called the "key series" and very hard to find in circulation. They also command more money.
Bonniview has it right. There can be multiple runs in a series. As far as the seal, some might call it a minor shift *ahem*eBay*ahem*. However, it's not outside the threshold to be called an error by most.
