1948 Cent Reverse wierdness

    The only thing I see is a small lamination crack running NE from the D in UNITED.

    That is the area of interest. It looks like some sort of raised up letting or pattern as it crosses under the features. Here are 2 more small scans, I might have to get hi rez shot.

    I see these a lot on Wheat Cents. It's a small lamination crack. Sometimes lamination errors are big, and actually peel off, and sometimes they're like this where you can only see the slightest crack beginning.

    I guess it might as well be lamination breaking out in funny shapes.
