Hi. I recently purchased 10 1955S large cents out of a roll of 50. Here are two that caught my eye. I also have an opportunity to purchase another whole roll. Can I please get your advice and input on what I have here and do you think I should buy the other roll? Thanks alot for all and any input! Sincerely, Tom E
On the first coin, if you're referring to the date and mint mark, those are minor die chips and they are very common on wheats from the 50's. If you're referring to the mark in front of the neck, that's a die clash and is also very common in that area. On the second coin, it looks like it might be a minor lamination peel.
I agree with Jody on both counts. Die breaks and clash on the first coin, minor lamination error on the second. I don't see a doubled die. Keep up the hunt!
