It will come, just keep looking.:headbang:=hya: = My first best day was around day 7300. It may be day 49 for you.
Satootoko, in 1960 there were small date cents and large date cents for circulation and proofs. There was a doubled die, FS-024 whare the first hubbing of the die was with a large date hub and the second with a small date. There are also large over small dates (FS-023 and FS-025). Pics are of FS-024 from coppercoins
Some of the nicest ones that I have these days was actually a batch of Soviet coins but they aren't the typical UNC that you find, but shocking proof condition. Probably averaged 40 cents each!
I just bought a 1795 Half in AG condition for about $150. It lists for about $750-1000. I'm sending it in to ANACS for grading when I get it. I've had a lot more great finds, but that's the latest great deal from this YN.
I found a 1921 Merc in a roll of bulk silver. Upon close inspection, i saw a VERY faint 'D'. paid - .50 , sold on ebay for - $36. Poor to AG condition.
My best deal was purchasing a beautiful, raw 1798 large cent for $75, as it was mixed in with a bunch of other large cents that were much more recent (mostly 1840s) and in low grades. The individual wanted $75 each for all of them, so I purchased the 1798 and only that one (I wouldn't have given him half of that for any of the others). I sent it in for grading and it came back VF-20. I also purchased a small auction lot of barber halves about a year ago for $4.00 each, and upon inspection, the lot contained an 1896-S and an 1897-O, both problem free, but only in about AG condition. The hunt for the ultimate deal is part of what makes the hobby fun.....good luck to all in your finds!!
