What are (or do you have any) coin collecting goals for 2007.
Mine would be to finish a set of xf Lincoln cents.

Greetings from Taiwan. I want to make a serious attempt to understand Chinese cash coins and make a much bigger effort to buy more in this area. I also want to visit the Hong Kong coin show in Sept. and perhaps Singapore's in the spring. Might also go to the Toronto show in late June if I'm back home in Canada at that time.

I'd like to expand my library, for one thing.

Establishing new contacts, is always a top priority.

Sharing the hobby with like-minded individuals, through online coin forums, is very important to me.

I want to get some coins and tokens, but they can wait.
I'll get what I want eventually.

Just keep looking for silver and gold coin bargains.

Also, make a more complete study of various tokens [civil war, hard times, and canadian bank]. I like the variety in designs that are available compared to regular circulation coinage and the history behind the issuance of tokens, and this might be my next area to collect. I have several and I like them a lot.

    I want to:

    - improve my grading skills for US coins
    - read, read, read
    - 'complete' my Barber Dimes set in F - AU
    - Buy a pillar dollar

As long as you don't care if the goal is likely to be accomplished, my goal is to end the year with a problem-free 1796 half cent in my collection. That, or to obtain one or more R7 or R8 half cent varieties in whatever condition I can.

More realistically, I intend to improve my library by adding reference materials and auction catalogs, I plan to meet more EACers at the spring show, and I would like to continue to obtain interesting varieties and die states in whatever grade I can.

Whichever set I manage to accomplish, I know that I will enjoy myself immensely.

I hope to fill a few more holes in my Morgan dollar collection. It's harder since I joined the forum, as I have become a little pickier on what I buy.
I have also lately taken a liking to seated dimes in the xf range, so I hope to buy a few of those as well.

To Complete my Small Cent Collection (1856 to Date) with errors. I have most of the key date, but still have some of the hardest to find. 1856, 1858/7, 1864L, 1888 8/7, 1909s, 1909S VDB, 1922 no D, 1955 D/D and a 1960 D over D, LG over SM Date.

I have alot of collecting goals for 2007, but here are the 4 most important,
    1. Complete my set of Jefferson nickels.
    2. Get at least half way done with my set of Walking Lib. halves
    3. Get some colonial coinage.
    4. Get some ancient Greek silver.

I would like to finish my Morgan $ set, but the key dates like the 1893-S, 1894 and 1889 CC will be major road blocks. Beyond those, I only need 5 or 6 more.

New Years Resolution will be to get rid of virtually thousands of duplicate coins. I will get rid of at least the duplicates in 2x2's. And that may just be a start. Not sure yet if I will give them away or bulk sell to someone at a coin show. But it is really time to downsize. I've been collecting for well over 60 years so it's time to slow down.

To add more books to my reference library, as well as expand my token collections. Sadly, I will never bring any of these endeavors anywhere near to be what I would consider to be complete. Some of the books I have, as well as some that I am seeking are scarcer than many tokens, with 100 or less ever published, and can cost well over $1 per page.

The one short collection I may have a shot at completing (in my lifetime) is to have all of the Oliver Boutwell (Miller) Civil War tokens. I have 34 of the 39 listed varieties (plus a couple of unlisted ones). I still need 1 R8 (5-10 known), 2 R-9s (2-4 known) and 2 R-10s (unique).
