Hello all. I have been a avid coin hunter for years. Either metal-detecting or shotgunning. Recently i bought a industrial sized coin sorter/counter for an experiment! I placed an ad on a site for a trade change for cash. I had two takers so far, one transaction for 1700 in change and the other was for 160 dollars. I have been threw about 700 in quarters so far, and found 2 silvers. I have a few pics of a quarter from 1967 thats real ruff looks like its parting in two. See on edge photo. Also got a 64 and 42 so far!
You know, that's actually a really good idea and I've been thinking of getting one myself. How do you go about doing the trade? Do they just sit there while you run it through a sorter?
Yes, we dumped in change for about one hour yesterday. I can only sort and count one denomination at a time. Filled into bags then, i make a receipt with my computer denomination times count! This guy had so many buckets of change he actually helped me out. Think he was happy to get rid of it, an have cash in hand! Not sure how im gonna deposit all this in the bank, the said they want it rolled.
Sounds like you need a coin rolling machine now! I love the idea, hopefully it pays you off with tons of silver!
Update, on the 1700 dollar horde! Two odd quarters, one in gold and the other painted. Quarters are done now, 1360 dollars worth. Moving on the nickels now. Found some old ones so far. Have about 150 dollars worth left to go threw.
