I'm not a master grader but I would say its about VF20 because on the front the hairlines are worn but the date and liberty are readable and on the back it is in great shape for its age there is little wear overall it is a great coin.

    I think VF.
The lines accross the face look like a die clash.
If that is true,it should worth more to those who collect mint errors.

The ironic thing is that I bought an old NES console & some games at a garage sale last week for $20 and then traded that for this large cent, 2 silver proof sets, 2 silver bullion coins, a miniature gold piece (assuming it's fake) AND $60 cash! I haven't decided whether I'm going to keep or sell this one, but I'm pretty excited about the trade. It makes up for all of those bad trades/purchases that I made early on when I was just beginning to collect! :)

Any idea of value? Can it get $50?

Also, does anyone else think it could be an error or is it just some type of corrosion?

Yes the coin corroded and that will affect the value.
Along with the uniform lines accross cheek
IMO there appears to be more "clutter" in that area too.
    C'mon experts, please reply!!
